✖ Leave me a comment saying "SEXY CHAZZ"
✖ I'll respond by asking you five questions so i can get to know you better.
✖ Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
✖ Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

-------------------------------------------------

1. Describe your favorite pair of pants.
It's blue, nice cut, doesn't make my hips look big and really snug.:D

2. When and where did you see Blades of Glory?
I saw it when me and my BF were watching another movie. The moment I saw the preview I was in love.:D

3. How did you meet your boyfriend?
I elbowed his stomach in the train and I didn't realize I did it. Oh, and we work in the same place.

4. What prompted you to become an animator/graphics artist,

simply love of doing it, or faith in the industry? Basically I just love doing it. I loved art as far as I can remember and I always wanna sharpen my fangs all the time. My faith is in the manga industry, though, which is of course NOT here in my country but still I wanna make a breakthrough so I do and learn all I can to get there.

5. If you could own any animal as a pet, what would it be?
A gryphon. It kicks ass and can fly.:D But if we're talking about normal animals, I'd go for the Siberian Tiger.:D

Okay. This is weird.

Good News: Another Anne Rice movie is underway. One of the Vampire Chronicle books so YAY!

Weird News: Robert Downey Jr. will play Lestat?!

But Anne Rice seemed to like the idea...

Hmmmmm.............

I was born on the same year that Ninoy died. It was a tragic time for each and every Filipino. And yet it sparked the start of a new era.

Yellow became the color of Democracy in my country at the time.

I was a toddler when Cory, Ninoy's quiet and simple widow, assumed the presidency. The first woman president in the Philippines and the first in Southeast Asia.

I'm now 26. And Cory is gone.

And yet, even after more than 20 years, my people has never forgotten her or her husband. The entire country mourned for her and yellow once again covered the Philippines. No longer out of revenge for a fallen hero, but for love for a simple and motherly heroine.

Truth. Freedom. Justice.

I lived through a memorable lifetime indeed.

May she rest in peace.

-------------------------------------
Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo
By: APO

'Di na 'ko papayag mawala ka muli.
'Di na 'ko papayag na muli mabawi,
Ating kalayaan kay tagal natin mithi.
'Di na papayagang mabawi muli.

Magkakapit-bisig libo-libong tao.
Kay sarap palang maging Pilipino.
Sama-sama iisa ang adhikain.
Kelan man 'di na paalipin.

Handog ng Pilipino sa mundo,
Mapayapang paraang pagbabago.
Katotohanan, kalayaan, katarungan
Ay kayang makamit na walang dahas.
Basta't magkaisa tayong lahat.

Masdan ang nagaganap sa aming bayan.
Nagkasama ng mahirap at mayaman.
Kapit-bisig madre, pari, at sundalo.
Naging Langit itong bahagi ng mundo.

Huwag muling payagang umiral ang dilim.
Tinig ng bawat tao'y bigyan ng pansin.
Magkakapatid lahat sa Panginoon.
Ito'y lagi nating tatandaan.

Mapayapang paraang pagbabago.
Katotohanan, kalayaan, katarungan.
Ay kayang makamit na walang dahas.
Basta't magkaisa tayong lahat!

bad girl and daydreams

Gr.

Ever get the feeling that everything you do is wrong? Everybody scolds you for the littlest things and brand you immature. When you try to explain your side, you end up making them angrier because they think you're just finding ways to escape. You try to tell them that you know this and that you already did that in the hopes of saving them the trouble and they end up getting angry anyway and telling you what a horrible selfish kid you are. And you can't even say anything or make a bad face because you know that they hate that too. They keep grumbling an complaining at everything you do. They tell you that you're an ingrate and that you should leave quickly so that they'll have less problems. They tell you you're the worst person ever.

But you couldn't say or do anything because you know that they are all you have and they support you and do everything and suffer for your sake.

SIGH.

What a sad emo life.

Lighter side.

I dream of the time when I can go to Starbucks wearing fashionable jrock-like clothes with graded shades and great hair and have sit in a very comfy spot and unashamedly order some nice cold frappe without asking help from other people. I open my uber cool bag and prop my cool laptop on the table and start looking up the art and manga jobs I'm booked in for the weekend and look up my email to see updates for our new manga. And drink my frappe and check out the amount of money I received as payment via internet. I also check my personal business and see that business is booming as usual and more orders of jrock and lolita stuff are underway. I send my tenants some advice and tell them to take care of it. And rich people around me are whispering that I was the famous Filipina mangaka who made a breakthrough in Japan and had her work animated. And then my mom calls me to tell me that she wants some chocolate truffles and a Yellow Cab pizza for dad. I said sure and close my laptop and finish my drink and meet my husband who is waiting for me so we could go shopping at Fully-Booked.

SIGH.

I know that's quite materialistic. But hey, dreams come in free.

Let's see you do it.

An 11-year-old girl who lost her father made the world cry with her on Tuesday.
Paris Katherine Jackson, 11, said goodbye to her father at the close of the memorial service.

"Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," said Paris Katherine Jackson, the second of Michael Jackson's three children, as a massive memorial service for her father neared its end in downtown Los Angeles.

"And I just want to say that I love him so much," Paris added, before breaking down in tears and burying herself in the arms of her aunt, Janet Jackson.

Her aunts, uncles and two brothers who were on stage at the Staples Center arena reached over to console Paris. Thousands of mourners in the audience dabbed their eyes with tissues.

It was the first time they had heard from a girl who, along with her two siblings, have often been hidden by veils or blankets when seen with their father.

http://edition.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/07/07/michael.jackson.wrap/index.html

To those who got something to say about him, tell it to this girl face to face.

If you have the guts.

To those people who got nothing good to say

Just a little pissed.

I've been on the online community for a long while now. So I can say I've seen a lot of stuff.

So far, the world of internet has always been a great source of amusement, reference and inspiration for me.

But I've also seen how wicked and brainless people can be. How soulless they may seem with the way they interact with others. How totally immature and single-minded stupid people can be. And to me, it causes so much despair and disgust.

I'm a realist and I do believe in the freedom of expression. But in every right, there must always be a sense of responsibility in exercising this right. There's nothing wrong if you think differently than other people and there's nothing wrong with criticism as long as there's a huge amount of respect and it constructs people instead of destroying them.

I can't believe there are a lot of sick and disgusting people out there who could only see the wrong and always find something to destroy and insult. If you have nothing right to say, just shut your frikkin' trap.

Or maybe they got no one to teach them propriety. They are less than animals in the way they behave. I can only feel pity and disgust for those type of people.

People use the net to share and communicate. The net has done so much good. It's people like you who ruin everything. I guess you like that and proud of yourself.

Sorry to say, but you're the most useless and less noticed person.

Your replies get erased and nobody listens to you. That must've sucked.

Nobody likes you. You get no new friends and if you're lucky you get a lot of hate mails and people curse your folks because of your lousiness even if they got nothing to do with that.

I pity you for having no light in your life. I pity you for having nothing but ignorance in your wretched life and I pity you for being amused at the misery of others.

I'm sure nobody loves you so you're taking it out on the world. Nobody loves somebody like that and nobody gives a damn.

How do you like it if you're the one getting pummeled with all of this useless and tasteless stuff? I bet you'd lash out quickly.

Even you wouldn't like it. So don't act all macho or bitchy that you think you like it and think it's cool because you're practically lying to yourself. And you know it.

Envy all you want. Destroy what you want. Insult everyone. Enjoy yourself.

Because that's all there will be in your pathetic life.

You're all alone.

Nagareboshi: Shooting Star

When I look up at the sky
The stars, see, are sparkling
Each giving off its own light
Like the people on this planet
Yeah, so I, too
Want to shine particularly bright
I close my eyes and make a vow in my heart
And entrust my dreams to that shooting star

I'm in my usual park
I can see the night scenery
On the slide
That's been my special seat for years
Whenever I'm worried about something, I come here
Just like then, I'm on my way to my dreams
But unable to fulfill them
"Maybe this is the end of the line"
There are days when I say weak things like that
But every time, I remember
That starry sky where I looked for a shooting star
The wish I made when I was little
Hasn't changed even now

When I look up at the sky
The stars, see, are sparkling
Each giving off its own light
Like the people on this planet
Yeah, so I, too
Want to shine particularly bright
I close my eyes and make a vow in my heart
And entrust my dreams to that shooting star

Hiding out in the schoolyard at night with my mates
We climbed the chain-link fence
The field seemed to have a different face than during the day
We headed for our sea called the pool
We didn't have swimming trunks, so we were all stark naked
Someone jumped in with a strange yell
The splash echoed through the night
"After him!" Everyone else piled in
We floated gently, looking up at the sky
Looked at the stars in front of us, and talked about heaps of dreams
And looked for that shooting star

When I look up at the sky
The stars, see, are sparkling
Each giving off its own light
Like the people on this planet
Yeah, so I, too
Want to shine particularly bright
I close my eyes and make a vow in my heart
And entrust my dreams to that shooting star

Looking up at the sky, there are countless stars
The same number now that there was years ago
My dreams are endless and crazy
Incredibly bright, like that star

Hey! If you keep hanging your head like that
You won't even be able to see the things you can see
Look up at the sky, keep your head up!!
Hey! "What do you think of the sky you see?"
Someday, like that shining star
I wanna shine

When I look up at the sky
The stars, see, are sparkling
Each giving off its own light
Like the people on this planet
Yeah, so I, too
Want to shine particularly bright
I close my eyes and make a vow in my heart
And entrust my dreams to that shooting star

---------------------------------

This song kept me sane all this time.
Hot Guys through the years (IMHO): Part 2

Another series of good-looking men, as I promised.:D Enjoy ladies.

Although this time, I doubt if we ever will have anything in common.:D lol

Why? Why did you have to die too?T_T But anyway, River Phoenix was truly handsome way back when he was alive. See him in 'My Own Private Idaho'.

I have this thing for Owen Wilson back in Armageddon. And he looked even cuter in Marley and Me.:D

It's the eyes. Definitely Mark Dacascos' eyes.

A VERY GOOD REASON FOR ME TO WATCH THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK. All 3 of the greatest actors ever. John Malkovich, Gerard Depardieu and Jeremy Irons.:D

I wish that was really Jason Isaac's real hair lol. So hot. Like an evil elf.

I liked Kiefer Sutherland a lot in Young Guns and The Three Musketeers as Athos. He truly stands out.:D

Why is David Caruso here? Because I just can't get enough of his endless fiddling with his shades, his arms on his waist and his long pauses.:D

Daniel Molloy or should I say Christian Slater. I miss your long hair too.:D

I was surprised to know that Christian Bale played as Laurie in Little Women.:D I loved him way back in Empire of the Sun.

SMOLDERING SPANISH EYES. WHAT ELSE?

There are times when Jun Matsumoto just looks really good.:D

And again, a great actor and a handsome guy gone in a wink. We miss you, Brandon. The best Crow ever.

Maybe more to come?^^

Hot guys through the years (IMHO) :D

Let's face it. There are a lot of hot guys out there.:D Most of mine are from random animes.

But then, I think I'll backtrack and go out of bounds a little to remember all the cute guys I encountered through the years in random media.:D

Let's see if you guys and I have something in common.:D

Jonathan Brandis (may he rest in peace T_T) caught my attention in the Neverending Story 2 as Bastian. Then in Sea Quest ( I mean, how hard can it be not to notice a single, young blonde hottie in the entire show? How?).

Then another hottie from that movie, Noah Hathaway as Atreus. I have this extreme weakness (as a little preschooler lol) for native american-looking guys. Must be the hair.:/

Then the all-time expert-in-recycling guy, Richard Dean Anderson aka Macgyver! I can make a bomb out of cords and stuff lol.:D But hey, as as kid, I thought he was hot.:D I even wished he was my big brother.:D creepy.

Edward Furlong looked so cute way back when in Terminator 2. But now... I'm not so sure.:/ Ah well, he was cute anyways.:D

Devon Sawa was so...*_* in Casper that I dropped my mug when I saw him. Oh why do you have to grow up lol?

Why are there so many guys who are prettier than girls lol.:D Nobody believed me when I said Vincent Kartheiser is a guy! Haha. But hey, who can blame those narrow-minded boys?:D

JOHNNY DEPP. Need I say more?

There's Kaneshiro Takeshi. Who was dubbed as Asia's Johnny Depp.:D You probably saw him in House of Flying Daggers and Onimusha. He's also the VA of Tarzan in the japanese version of the animated film feature.:D Part Jap, Part Korean, all-hotness.:D

THIS GUY IS PRETTIER THAN ME GR. The fey Lee Jun Ki from the drama My Girl and the movie 'The Clown and the King'. BISHOUNEN DO EXIST.o_O

I liked Orlando Bloom better as Legolas than Will Turner. It was his most 'untouchable' role. Not a single drop of dirt penetrated his elvish looks.:D

EXCELLENT DUDE.

LOL. I missed Brendan Fraser's long hair.:D

Brad Pitt in Troy as Achilles. Brad Pitt in a skirt. Okay, a loin cloth whatever. Showing his legs. Long hair. *drool*

Charlize Theron is the luckiest gal. She has Lestat and Dorian Gray all to herself LOL. Stuart Townsend: timeless appeal.:D

Taylor Kitsch from Friday Night Lights and X-Men Origins: Wolverine as Gambit.:D Look at that waistline.:D

Lately, I've been thinking about how I admire Hugh Jackman, not because of his Wolvie abs, but because of his talent. The guy was a theater actor for goodness sakes.:D So great!

Then suddenly Will Ferrell comes skating into my heart as Chazz Michael Michaels.:D Probably the oddest one here. hehe.

Part of the famous asian boyband JVKV (formerly known as F4), the ever-active Vanness Wu.:D

Another guy who looks better than a girl lol. Taylor Hanson.:D A lot of my guy friends fell for this cutie's trap. hahahahahah.:D

In the world of Jrock, Hyde from L'Arc~en~Ciel reigns supreme.

This is the only time I actually thought that Gackt Camui looked great.

Way back when he was 14, Daniel Johns was really handsome. Sigh. Until he got really thin.-_-

I know there should be more.^^ But let's it leave it at that for now.:D

What do you mean '2 ROUNDS'?

The streets empty.

The supermarkets and town plazas void of people.

Almost no public or private vehicles hitting the roads. I can almost see a tumbleweed travelling down our street.

Zero crime rate. The war in Mindanao stops.

Peace on Earth.

If only for a few minutes.

Until the resounding victory shouts of every Filipino erupts in every house, every gym, and every theater.

2 FRIKKIN' ROUNDS and the fight's over!?

" Manny Pacquiao, often considered the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, cemented his reputation Saturday night when he knocked out British boxer Ricky Hatton in the second round.
"That was two of the most exciting rounds I have seen in my career," said Chris Mannix, a writer for Sports Illustrated. "You saw, from the opening bell, Pacquiao was really dominant."

With the win at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada, Pacquiao added the light-welterweight crown to his past world titles: lightweight, super-featherweight, light-featherweight, featherweight and flyweight.

The Filipino's career record now stands at 49-3-2 with 37 knockouts.

The fight, for which Pacquiao reportedly earned $12 million, was brief.

Pacquiao knocked Hatton down in the first round from a series of lightning-fast right hooks.

The British boxer managed to get to his feet and finish the round, but the outcome was evident once the second round began.

But Pacquiao's technique and speed quickly outclassed Hatton. The Filipino's right hooks set up a devastating left hook that flattened Hatton with a second remaining in the second round. The referee quickly ended the match.

"It turned out he (Hatton) just wasn't very good at boxing," Mannix said. "You saw the difference between a great fighter and very good fighter."

The 30-year-old Pacquiao is a national hero in the Philippines, where his bouts bring the country to a standstill. He came into the fight on Saturday as a narrow favorite after sending one of the biggest names in the sport, Oscar de la Hoya, into retirement with a stoppage victory in December.

Nicknamed "Pacman," he grew up poor in General Santos City in the southern Philippines. He found boxing as a way to lift himself to fame and riches, yet he remains self-deprecating outside of the ring.

It is this combination of a fierce fighter in the ring and a smiling deferential one outside that has helped turn him into an idol."

-CNN

Also present in the fight were famous people like Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg (who was a huge fan of Pacquiao), and Batista(half-Filipino wrestler), who was part of Pacquiao's entourage.

Times like this, it feels so good to be a Filipino indeed.^___^ Although I feel quite bad for those who spent so much money to watch it uninterrupted, only to have it end too quickly indeed. I also feel bad about Hatton, since this is his 2nd chance to redeem himself. And my, that was a very terrible punch to the jaw. We were all worried because it took a while before he woke up.o_o

'Mas mahaba pa ang parada kesa sa laban." LOL.

Mabuhay ka, Manny. We, your kababayans all over the world, are so proud of you.

Movie Soundtracks: Help!

Okay... this is the weirdest thing ever. But I need help.

I've been compiling movie soundtracks that are good enough for wedding songs. Like 'Glory of Love' from Karate Kid and 'Accidentally in Love' from Shrek. And I do mean HAPPY songs with HAPPY messages. No mention of death or total sadness. So ' My Heart will go on' and 'There You'll Be' aren't on my list.^^;

So, if you know of anything, feel free to tell me.^^

Thank you everyone.

As to where I'll be using it, let's just hold that for a later date.:D

Never have your picture taken... EVER.

I've been watching XXXholic ( pronounced only as 'holic') for a while now. It was made by CLAMP, the same girls who also made Magic Knight Rayearth, X/1999 and Card Captor Sakura. I couldn't continue reading the manga online because of time and money restrictions. And I ahevn't finished watching the DVD of the first season. But I'm glad, and kind of awed, that I got to watch the 20th episode.

(For those who aren't familiar with XXXholic, it's the story of Kimihiro Watanuki, a high school student plagued by spirits with a strong attraction to him. The spirits are invisible to others and encounters with them are extremely troublesome. When he stumbles into a shop that grants wishes, however, events in his life promise to become more unusual.

The shop is owned by Yūko Ichihara, a mysterious and beautiful (sometimes playful) witch of many names and esoteric renown. For a price, she offers to grant Watanuki's wish to be rid of the spirits. The price, according to Yūko, must be of equal value and so, as payment, he temporarily becomes Yūko's part-time employee.

Watanuki's job consists of small errands dealing with the supernatural and household chores.)

Episode 20th was about a picture of a girl who had her back turned on when her picture was taken. Watanuki, who can feel the presence of oddly scary things, was scared of it before he saw it, because it was in the envelope when given to Yuuko by its distraught owner, who didn't know what to do with it. When the picture was revealed, Watanuki was confused because there was nothing strange about the picture at all. Just a girl whose face you can't see.

So they placed the picture in a frame and it remained in the living room. Until one day, Watanuki saw the frame melting and the girl in the picture started to move. She turned and they saw a smiling face. Watanuki became even more bewildered because there was no malevolent nature to it at all. Right at that moment, the female owner of the picture arrived and they all saw, much to her horror, how her image ran to the girl (as if you're watching a video in a melting frame) and how she pushed the girl down a cliff. The owner grabbed the picture to avoid letting the others see it. And she begged Yuuko to make the picture disappear. And that is what Yuuko did. She held the picture as it gently distintegrated. But Watanuki saw the owner's maniacal face in the picture. The owner vehemently denied that she killed the girl. The girl just slipped and fell down the cliff. But as she cowered and panicked, it was hard for Yuuko and Watanuki to believe her at all.

With that done, Yuuko tells the owner that she will never encounter that picture again. And that she has to pay a price for that service. And she was more than willing. Until Yuuko told her what the price is.

SHE WAS TO NEVER EVER HAVE HER IMAGE RECORDED IN OR BY ANY DEVICE. CAMERAS, VIDEOS, ETC. BECAUSE SHOULD SHE ACCIDENTALLY HAVE HER PICTURE TAKEN OR SHOULD SHE APPEAR ON TELEVISION OR IN A VIDEO, THE IMAGE THE DISINTEGRATED PICTURE SHOWED THEM WILL BE SHOWN INSTEAD.

That just blew me away. I mean... how can you avoid that? The world is so full of CCTV, satellites and camera phones. So even if her picture was accidentally taken by a passing tourist or she happens to pass by a group of friends taking a video, that horrible image of her killing someone will be seen by everybody. Wow.

As a final word, Yuuko said that the only way to avoid such is to NEVER EVER leave her house. Taking somebody else's life pays a truly heavy price.

That's terrible. And terrible too that you'll never leave a single mark of yourself in the world. To the ancient Egyptians, that was the worst punishment. Because to them, it is the same as taking away your immortality.

And then I thought... wow. What if this would happen to everyone whose ever killed anyone?

Now, wouldn't that be truly horrible than death?

My world is ending...

I can SO relate to this song. I feel like an empty can thrown away in the streets. After consuming what I had to offer, I'm treated like trash. Useless and left to the elements to rot away. Is this what I truly deserve? After all that I've done? Up to now, I just can't believe it. I hate this so much. I feel like crap.

And yet I have to do something... I can't live like this forever...

*sigh*

--------------------------------

Until the World Comes to an End
Sung by: Wands
Romanization/Translation: Takayama Miyuki & Serizawa Kamo

I'm all alone in the big city,
thrown away like an empty can.
If love is love until we know everything about each other
Then let's sleep forever...

And so, people seek an answer
And lose something that's irreplaceable
A city filled with desires, even the stardust
in the night skies doesn't shine on us

Before the world comes to an end, please make me listen.
A catastrophy well suited to a flower in full bloom...
While everyone wishes, no one believes in eternity.
...Even so, they certainly dream about tomorrow.
Short-lived days and... this tragedy night

Until the world come to an end, we won't be apart.
I wished it for countless nights
Why do only the irretrievable times shine?
Even the worn-out heart is broken.
Melancholically fleeting thoughts... on this tragedy night
This tragedy night

Holy Week in my place

So the holy week arrives.

Here in our country, Holy Week is a very solemn time. The Philippines consists of around 80% catholics. So we take this week very seriously. You'll see it on the local TV, with our Holy Week Specials. You'll see it on the roads, since there are lesser people outside. And it's pretty obvious in the Pier. Once the holiday sets in, almost everybody wants to go to their provincial hometown all at the same time. So imagine the chaos and the heat ( It's the height of SUMMER in our tropical lil country).

They take it seriously especially in the provinces and during the olden times. I was told that before, during the entire week, from Palm Sunday to Black Saturday, there are a lot of restrictions and lots of activities. No laughing out loud, no eating of meat (not even hamburgers), not eating too much, no TV, no computer, no playing around, no roaming around, no establishments open, no outings. After all, it is the time when we reminisce the Lord's sufferings for the salvation of man and so we try to be one with him.

And yet, there are also a number of events and panatas ( a sort of promise a person makes to God for a favor granted or a favor asked, like me, I usually avoid drawing or sketching during the Holy Week as my sacrifice. My way of thanking him). Some people take it to extremes. Some wear wooden helmets and masks in extreme heat, flog themselves until blood comes out and their backs get shredded under the heat of the sun, and some even have themselves crucified, with real nails driven through their hands and feet. The townspeople and tourists bear witness to this. Some awed, some freaked-out, some shocked, and still some are amazed with the effort these people exert in the name of faith.

My mother came from the Island of Marinduque, which is the heart of the Philippines. Here, during the Holy Week, we have the Moriones Festival, held in honor of the Roman Centurion Longinus. His life is portrayed in a play, from the time he pierced Jesus' side, to the point where he gets beheaded by his fellow soldiers. People dress up as Roman soldiers. I own a mask of a morion ( Roman Soldier) and it is REALLY BIG AND HEAVY. I wore it once and I almost suffocated. It's so hot. And yet, it's so intricately detailed and finely crafted on the outside. The fun part here is when the one who plays Longinus starts running and hiding from the roman soldiers and the crowd participates, with the morions running after the crowd as Longinus hides among the people. Chaos I tell you.

Then we have the Pasyon. The ritual singing of the creation, entire life of Jesus, St. Helen's search for the cross, and Judgement Day in poetic style. The old folks in the provinces know this by heart. I tend to just read the Pasyon. I can't sing it and I'm too slow. It's supposedly to be sang starting on Palm Sunday, then supposedly will be finished right before 3PM on Good Friday.

The Prusisyon (Procession) is also a contemporary event here. A procession showing the statues of saints and Jesus and Mary in scenes portraying the life of Christ. The wooden statues were all very finely made. Our country is known for its wonderful craftsmen of religious items, and it is always a wonderful thing to see the wonderful clothes, the long eyelashes, the curly hair and soft kind faces of the Mary, Christ and the saints. In opposition is the faces of the antagonists.o_o Too scary for words.

The play depicting Christ's life, especially is called the senakulo. Lately, they're added a modern twist to the play. Even local actors here have played as Christ of his disciples.

My parents, being very religious, also have their arsenal of religious cds and dvds on hand during these days. They tend to watch Spartacus, Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments ( a classic favorite starring Chalton Heston and Yul Bryner), The Passion of the Christ ( My dad cried each time he watched this), Jesus of Nazareth (starring Robert Powell), and my favorite for its unbelievable rock tunes, Jesus Christ Superstar.:D The one who played Jesus here has an unbelievably high voice and it is set in the hippies time. Flower Power.:D

The 7 last words is an undying tradition here during Good Friday. 7 priests give their interpretation of each of Christ's last words. We just watch it on TV because it's way too hot outside.

Lately, everyone is being a lot more relaxed and not as strict and boring like the old days. We started having this notion that Christ isn't dead. We just remember and contemplate what He did. We watch TV and do normal stuff. Work until Holy Wednesday. But with an ounce of solemnity. A little silence, a little prayer and a lot of gratitude. After all, He did it for all of us. I guess it wouldn't hurt to let him know that we appreciate it.:D

Do Svidaniya, Nastya

Do Svidaniya is 'goodbye' in russian.

Everytime I watch either the animated Anastasia film feature or the National Geographic topic about the Romanovs, I still feel some sort of vague sadness over what has befallen such an illustrious family. And what such beautiful girls this family has. It is indeed a pity they had to end that way.

Ever since I was a child, my papa told me stuff about them. He watched movies about them that I tried to watch but couldn't continue. Of them all, I favored, of course, Anastasia, always believing in my youth that just maybe she did survive.

But of course, as the years went by, I was faced with a truth that it's somehow... impossible.

I made this imagining what it's like when she finally reached that peace which almost the entire world wished upon her and her family. I was supposed to put in a phoenix, but somehow, that didn't sit well. So I gave her butterflies. A symbol of immortality.

Since I can't properly draw real people, I made her in the way I knew how. I probably made a lot of mistakes on her. So... I'm really sorry in advance.

Anastasia, by the way, meant ' of the resurrection'.

Summer Nostalgia

" The term nostalgia describes a longing for the past, often in idealized form. The word is made up of two Greek roots (νόστος nostos "returning home", and άλγος algos "pain"), to refer to "the pain a sick person feels because he wishes to return to his native home, and fears never to see it again". It was described as a medical condition, a form of melancholy, in the Early Modern period, and came to be an important topic in Romanticism. "

Summer is here in our little place. You can tell from the way the afternoon sunshine becomes a brighter gold as it hits the window panes. The children are already getting ready for vacation. You can see the proud parents wearing their best as they attend their children's graduation. The wind feels so friendly and strong in the midst of the welcome heat of the summer sun. The skies are bluer and the clouds are so much prettier and rounder. Yep. Summer all right.

I pass my old high school a lot since I just live a short distance away from it. I can even hear the flag ceremony every morning from my bedroom. I walked past it and took a glance inside. It looked so much different from when we last stepped inside it. I always saw it of course. But now, I remember how the rooms weren't airconditioned before and my classmates would fan themselves silly due to the heat. How the school's facade used to be gray and faded and now it's all painted and pretty.

But then, there are some things that didn't change. The school grounds still looked the same. The same grounds where we ran and ate lunch and danced during the school programs. The school hall remained the same. Our plays, our programs, our graduation. It all happened there.

My closest friends and classmates lived nearby as well. I found it weird how, just a few years ago, I would go to their house to celebrate their debuts. Now, I still go to their houses. We all have work now unlike before when we would go and hang around their place and watch Yu Yu Hakusho, which was at the time, the most famous anime in the entire country. Even our teachers watch it. Sometimes we would watch Ranma and Golden Boy, which a friend would steal from her big brother and bring over to be watched in private. Or maybe borrow some science book I lost and hope they let me copy their homework.

Summer for us back then is made up of art practices, outings, buying school stuff, hanging out a lot in our friends' house and stuff. Reading Anne Rice novels, getting all sappy and romantic. That was our teen summer.

I smile when I think about that. How odd indeed. Now, they're all getting married and having babies and moving away with their husbands. How quickly time flies by. Wasn't it almost yesterday when I taught these kids to draw? To create a fandom? To search in the internet for more galleries and stuff? I even have some of their stuff here and some of my stuff is in their house. Unreturned and almost forgotten.

I told my dad about the oddness of the feeling. He told me the same thing he always told me ever since I knew how to ask questions. Let it go. Everything has an end. We all have to move on someday.

I sighed. It's always been a fault of mine to cling to a memory. And somehow, the strangeness and the summer breeze didn't help at all.

What doesn't end anyway?

Love VS. Infatuation

Love vs Infatuation

Infatuation vs. Love

Infatuation is instant desire - one set of glands calling to another.

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows, one day at a time.

Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity. You are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream.

Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real. It gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warmed by their presence, even when they are away. Miles do not separate you. You have so many wonderful little films in your head that you keep replaying. But near or far, you know they are yours, and you can wait.

Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can’t risk losing them."

Love says, "Be patient. Don’t panic. Plan your future with confidence."

Infatuation has an element of sexual excitement. Whenever you are together, you hope it will end in intimacy.

Love is not based on sex. It is the maturation of friendship, which makes sex so much sweeter. You must be friends before you can be lovers.

Infatuation lacks confidence. When they’re away, you wonder if they’re cheating. Sometimes, you check.

Love means trust. You are calm, secure and unthreatened. They feel your trust, and it makes them even more trustworthy.

Infatuation might lead you to do things you will regret, but love never steers you in the wrong direction.

Love is an upper. It makes you feel whole. It completes the circle. It fills the empty space in your heart.

Love is elevating. It lifts you up. It makes you look up. It makes you think up. It makes you a better person than you were before. If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things you don’t have. If there is no love in your life, whatever else there is has a lot less meaning.

The secret of our being is not only to live but to have something to live for.

So boys and girls, learn to see the difference. And see the truth for what it is.

Something New

Now that I'm 26...

I've been hooked to fashion stuff lately. I'm not really a hardcore fashionista. But I find myself enjoying dressing up and building up a little confidence with what I wear.

I've been buying magazines and testing make-up. I've been browsing through stores for nice little clothes, shoes and accesories. I've been trying to build a wardrobe arsenal based on Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf's style. The plaids and the bows. And so far, the response I've been getting is goood. Oh yeh.

I'm still in my art downtime. I was too busy with work and sleeping and making stories that I suddenly have little energy left to even sketch. But I've been studying pencil strokes a lot to avoid my shaky-hand syndrome. So far I'm getting the hang of it.

I'm thinking positively lately. I'm more of into the happy stuff ( IS THIS ME OMG) and avoiding dark and depressing stuff. Although I'm still quite gothicky ( NOT EMO).

I adore Fairly Oddparents! Cosmo and Wanda! Timmy! Chip Skylark! Gah! My day is never complete without at least 2 episodes to watch.

Watched Blades on HBO again after a long time. I still couldn't control my hand from twirling in time when they do the Triple Axle together in the fire and ice routine. I still squeal when Chazz thanked the medal-giving lady.

I think need new glasses though. I think my eye grade went a tad higher again.@__@

I wanna connect with my relatives and my family a lot lately. I wanna spend a lot of time with them. I go home earlier lately because of that. I feel closer to my uncles and aunts and cousins. I became more expressive towards my mom and dad.

I don't play online games much anymore. I guess the phase is past. But I have to be careful still. The inner gamer is alive still.

I'm very budget-conscious lately. Maybe because I'm getting older and my life is getting more complicated and expensive.

My hyperthyroid is almost gone! WEEEEEEE!

Hmmm... lotsa new stuff.:)

Goodbye 2008. Welcome 2009 ^___^

2009 upcoming.

2008 has been quite a year. As usual, a lot of things happened over the course of 12 months. Some good, some bad. But what can you expect from a time here in the mortal world?

So, a recap of stuff I remembered about this year. Not really in chronological order since I barely had time to write stuff up in my journal so the sequence is jumbled.

1. I turned 25 this year. Wooooh! Most people would think that's the prime of life. But I feel like I've just begun to do BIG stuff.:D

2. Me and my BF have reached our 2nd year anniversary.

3. Mirida (my manga-making group) entered contests in Komikon and Philippine Graphic awards. So far, we won 3rd place in Komikon with our collab entry with roryheadmav.

4. Famous people dying. Foreign actors Brad Renfro (omg, I grew up thinking he's so gorgeous. sigh), Heath Ledger, Charlton Heston, Bernie Mac. Local actors like Rudy Fernandez and Marky Ciel (which was a total waste). Also relatives dying. A cousin, a friend's brother, a friend's cousin... May they all rest in peace.

5. Friends having babies! April, Lanie, Beq. All to be born next year so that's something to look forward to on 2009.^__^ Congratulations and Good luck to all the soon-to-be parents! May your babies be blessed with good health and a happy disposition.:D

6. Having great friends at work. My personal frat pack.^__^ Working was so much fun with you guys around.

7. My addiction to Blades of Glory. Which opened up new doors to new friends like xenafox, jingul and tripp.:D And the start of my Will Ferrell and Jon Heder collection.

8. New fashion awareness. Started to buy Preview, Cosmopolitan and FHM for the sake of fashion tips.

9. Inspiration to create a series. A kick-ass one.

10. Having a new TV! One that doesn't go ballistic when I flip it to channels with white scenes.

11. Attended mass at work for the first time. Some of the masses were officiated by my uncle.:D

12. Reunions and parties.:D

13. A new celphone after 8 years! Oh yeh!

14. Still playing Perfect World. But my BF started to get addicted to GetAmped.o_O

15. Got new mangas.:D This is very rare.

16. Started patronizing onemanga.com

17. First time to see someone getting tattoed in real time.X_X

18. Realized that the writers of famous local TV shows are total noobs.

19. Created a new wardrobe. Well, not that many but I'm on my way.^^

20. Additional godchildren.*facepalms*

21. Scary natural disasters. LOTS of them. We get plagued with a LOT of storms this year. Even huge disasters at sea. MV Princess of the Stars was one of the worst. almost 700+ people dead I think.

22. The collectible Voltron lions from Jollibee.

23. Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao's overwhelming victory over 'The Golden Boy' Oscar Dela Hoya. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!:D

24. Having hyperthyroidism.-_-

Okay, so there's some stuff I remember. Not much since I'm very forgetful.^^; But all in all, I enjoyed this year.:D

Here's some pics of 2008.:D Of course it doesn't cover the early part of 2008 because I only had my camphone later in the year.

Oh noes! Me and my BF are starting to look alike.XD

Spending my time with Tom and Ryan, my fellow lay-out artists and good friend.:D

Me and Tom hanging out after a tough day.-_- I still owe him a lot of moolah.:D

Me (somewhere there) and my frat pack walking to the canteen.:D Yes they're all boys.^^ And they're so happily distracted with PSP's.:D

The chaotic breaktime.
